Smithstown
Smithstown Lodge is a mainstream residential home for adolescents, both male and female, aged 12-18 years of age whom for a variety of reasons have emotional and behavioural difficulties. It is a large bright modern house, situated on approximately an acre of land in the picturesque village of Julianstown, Co. Meath.
We have access to a range of schools, clubs and other activities whilst having the advantage of being accessible to Dublin. We have a full team of qualified professional Social Care Workers and Social Care Leaders who provide high quality individualised care for up to 5 young people.
The use of external professional agencies in Smithstown Lodge will be made available to each young person in accordance with their care plan.
The house is bright and there is ample space throughout the home for privacy, access visits as well as indoor and outdoor activities. All bedrooms are spacious and private and have the luxury of each being equipped with an en-suite bathroom, TV point and quality furnishings.
We offer a range of programmes and activities individually designed by Keyworkers to help young people build confidence in their achievements and abilities as well as fostering ambitions for the challenges they will face throughout their lives.
The team works in partnership with young people’s families and social workers. They will actively and consistently engage with families within their own home or in a mutually agreed venue. This empowering approach aims to promote familial links and maintain pivotal social relationships in a young person's life.
Smithstown Lodge has received registration and inspection from the Child and Family Agency and is subject to ongoing, regular monitoring and support from the local inspector and monitoring officer.
